NFL Draft Pick No. 18: Philadelphia Eagles – Chris Olave, Wide Receiver, Ohio State

Garrett Wilson is the first wide receiver on the Buckeyes that could go in the first round, and Chris Olave is the second. Both are excellent players, and it’ll be interesting to see who the first one off the board will be.

Olave’s biggest strength is his route running, and the Eagles need a reliable receiver. Jalen Reagor has been very disappointing, and the team won’t be satisfied with their current receiving corps.

Olave recorded 65 catches for 936 yards and 13 touchdowns this season for Ohio State and while Wilson is the more dynamic receiver it’s Olave who’s the most polished product right now. He’s more reliable and less prone to drops, and his route running is the best in this class.

Olave isn’t the strongest receiver you’ll find and can sometimes get stuck if a cornerback can stack him at the line of scrimmage, but his route running and athleticism mean he’s so slick that these moments are few and far between.

Olave sometimes loses a bit of attention with his teammate, Wilson, taking the lead with his dynamic ability, but he’s still an excellent talent and arguably the better receiver right now.
