49ers wouldn’t trade Deebo Samuel to Packers
Like the Cowboys, there’s a matter of principle when it comes to San Francisco engineering a trade with another archrival, the Green Bay Packers, that other team whose quarterback is a boyhood 49ers fan.
The Packers removed one of quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ favorite targets this offseason, sending All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams away to the Las Vegas Raiders and essentially leaving Rodgers with… Randall Cobb?

Outside of Adams, it feels as if Green Bay’s search for a top-level wideout has been never-ending in recent seasons, yet the Packers remain a Super Bowl contender because of Rodgers nonetheless.
True, the Niners have managed to best Rodgers in the postseason in two of the last three years, which is great. But if the Packers somehow managed to acquire Deebo Samuel, the odds of that happening again would surely shift in the opposite direction.
Would San Francisco want to make Rodgers’ life easier?
No way.
