No. 8 prospect 49ers don’t want to see in NFC West: RB Breece Hall, Iowa State

Iowa State running back Breece Hall is in the running for the No. 1 player at his position to be selected in the NFL Draft.

This, after Hall impressed with two amazing back-to-back seasons with the Cyclones over the last two years before further bolstering his draft stock at the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine:

Hall, 6-foot-1 and 220 pounds, is a big-bodied ball-carrier with the ability to break tackles and gain chunk yardage, even behind not-so-great offensive lines. That could make him an ideal target for a run-first offense like the Seahawks, who own two second-round picks in the draft, while a team like the Cardinals may look to someone like Hall to replace running back Chase Edmonds in free agency.

The Niners’ top-level run defense could take a step back in 2022 after losing D.J. Jones, so the last thing they want to see is the NFC West’s run game get better with a player like Hall in the mix.
