No. 9 prospect 49ers don’t want to see in NFC West: S Lewis Cine, Georgia

Safety is more of a need for San Francisco than the other three teams in the NFC West, particularly after strong safety Jaquiski Tartt remains unsigned.

But that shouldn’t rule out either the Cardinals, Seahawks or Rams from targeting one of the better defensive backs in this year’s class, Georgia safety Lewis Cine.

Cine, 6-foot-1 and 200 pounds, plays much bigger than his size would indicate, and he has the capability to be a defensive threat close to the line of scrimmage, suggesting the kind of playmaking abilities Seattle once had with safety Kam Chancellor not too long ago during the heyday of the Seahawks’ rivalry with the 49ers.

Seattle’s possession of safety Jamal Adams probably eliminates that possibility, but a team like the Rams may look to beef up their secondary with such a luxury pick, grabbing a player who broke up nine passes a year ago for the Bulldogs.
