5 draftees who rose up 49ers big board at NFL Combine

49ers prospect No. 3: RB Breece Hall, Iowa State
The Niners were probably looking at day three to beef up their running back room, and it probably would be a good idea with veteran rushers Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson Jr. poised for free agency, as well as the possibility 2021 third-round draftee Trey Sermon never ends up panning out after a disappointing rookie season.
Regardless, if San Francisco was eyeing Iowa State running back Breece Hall, who enjoyed back-to-back 1,400-yard rush campaigns with a combined 41 touchdowns the last two years, it might no longer have to consider Hall a lucky day-three pick in Round 4.
No, Hall is almost assuredly going to be a day-two pick now, potentially sneaking into Round 2.
Hall wowed at the NFL Scouting Combine with a 4.39 40-yard dash time, showing his blazing speed, then doubled up with a 126-inch vertical jump, too.
The 5-foot-11, 217-pound Hall has the makings of an every-down tailback, and that might be attractive to a team like the 49ers that has had to rely on running backs by committee for years now.
