Kyle Hamilton. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 4. player. 819. Safety. Notre Dame

49ers prospect No. 4: S Kyle Hamilton, Notre Dame

San Francisco will have no chance to land Notre Dame safety Kyle Hamilton, who is all but a lock to be a top-10 selection, possibly someone selected in the top five with ease.

Since Hamilton is such an intriguing prospect with instant game-changing potential, though, it’s almost by respect he has to get mentioned here. As far as defensive prospects go, he might be the name to watch at the NFL Scouting Combine.

The 6-foot-4, 219-pound defensive back is the embodiment of a do-it-all defender, someone capable of providing excellent coverage skills with big-play ability, not sacrificing much of anything in terms of speed, strength or football IQ.

Equally as intriguing is the fact Hamilton could line up all over the field, not just strictly as a safety. And with so many question marks within their own secondary heading into 2022, the 49ers could only wish a player like Hamilton would be available.

There are very few prospects in this year’s the Niners should consider aggressively trading up for if they somehow manage to fall, but Hamilton would certainly be one of them.

Especially if his combine performances are off the charts, yet those wouldn’t cause him to fall, of course.
