49ers USFL target No. 2: CB Delrick Abrams Jr., Tampa Bay Bandits

There are plenty of positions the Niners need to address this offseason, but few have received the highlight more than at cornerback.

2021 rookies like Ambry Thomas and Deommodore Lenoir might not be purely starting-caliber options, while veteran Emmanuel Moseley seems to hinge upon being one of those players who could stand to be upgraded over.

Regardless, San Francisco needs both starting options and depth.

Former Colorado cornerback Delrick Abrams Jr., who was drafted by the Tampa Bay Bandits in Round 8, has the physical tools to be a developmental prospect with the highest of upsides being a decent backup at the pro level ever since his college tenure ended in 2019.

At 6-foot-3 and 180 pounds, he has a long, lanky frame that might be attractive enough for zone-style defenses and has enough speed to converge on would-be pass-catchers.

Not the best tackler, Abrams is nevertheless a decent enough player when the action is in front of him, and his ability as a possible big-nickel safety could be in play here, too, to help round out the 49ers secondary.
