49ers legendary running back Frank Gore is an all-time Niners favorite, but his love for dogs might actually eclipse his love for football.
Whenever there’s content out there about San Francisco 49ers (future) Hall of Fame running back Frank Gore, we’re here for it.
Gore, the franchise’s all-time leading rusher and the No. 3 player on the NFL’s list of total rushing yards with 16,000 over 16 seasons played, is no stranger to the Niners Faithful’s adoration, even years after leaving the franchise via free agency in 2015.
And while most fans loved Gore for the way he played the game, often being the sole reason San Francisco’s offense was watchable, particularly early in his career, it’s what Gore has continued to do off the field that makes him such an iconic 49ers treasure.
For you dog lovers out there, you have one more reason to love Gore even more.
Frank Gore is a massive dog lover
OK, not necessarily hot-take football content or analysis here. But when fans are clamoring over cap casualties and whether or not the Niners can win the Super Bowl next season, it’s always refreshing to see what players’ lives are like off the field.
In Gore’s case, he enjoys spending time with his two dogs, Kenzo and Fendi, a couple of French bulldogs.
In a series called “Meet the Pets,” part of the sports-media outlet, Whistle, Gore talked about how special his dogs are to him.
According to Gore, Kenzo would be a running back, while Fendi would be a slot receiver.
Makes you wonder if Gore will be pushing for his two dogs to be drafted for the 2023 Puppy Bowl, right?
Frank Gore reflects on his journey with 49ers
“When I went to San Fran, we were one of the sorriest teams in the league,” Gore added. “It took us seven years to get to the playoffs.”
And while Gore was never able to reach that elusive Super Bowl ring with the 49ers, he’s nevertheless thankful for the love and adoration he’s received from both the franchise and the Faithful.
“Every time I go back to the bay, they show me so much love,” Gore said. “I’m happy I got drafted there.”
Gore also stressed his desire to work in the Niners front office, too, and fans will surely be wanting to see that as well.
At any rate, Gore is already one of the most awesome players in San Francisco history, and those dog lovers out there just found another reason why the 49ers’ all-time leading rusher is deserving of the love and adoration he already receives.
