Question No. 1: Can Jimmy Garoppolo be good enough?

The last three weeks, including the Week 18 win over the Rams, quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has been far from perfect.

Of course, in that Week 18 game when Garoppolo tossed two interceptions and was nearly as big a reason for a near loss, he nevertheless bounced back strong enough in the fourth quarter and overtime to help seal the win.

Additionally, in the Wild Card and divisional rounds against the Dallas Cowboys and Packers, respectively, Garoppolo tossed more interceptions. However, unlike earlier during the regular season when San Francisco went 1-6 when Jimmy G threw a pick, the 49ers have nevertheless found ways to win.

Garoppolo has thrown only one touchdown against four interceptions during this three-game stretch, and he hasn’t crested a passer rating north of 90.0 in any one of those games.

While the 49ers have many other ways to win, including that stout defense and a dynamic rushing attack, recent evidence suggests Jimmy G doesn’t have to be overly dynamic and dominant.

No, he can be good enough. That might be precisely what the Niners need on Sunday when they square off against Los Angeles at 6:40 p.m. ET on Jan. 30 from SoFI Stadium.
