Reliability receivers

With the incredible play of “wide back” Deebo Samuel, it’s easy to forget that the 49ers are loaded with talent at this position. They are big, physical specimens that block well and run clean routes. They’ve also been known to lay the wood from time to time.

Wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk is not only a solid number-two option, he’s the perfect complement to a player like Deebo Samuel.

On Wild card weekend, he was the highest-graded receiver at 83.7, according to PFF. That’s even more impressive when you factor in that his coverage was All-Pro Trevon Diggs.

During the first 10 games of the season, Aiyuk put up respectable numbers, but over the last nine games, he’s more than doubled his yardage and receptions.

Brandon Aiyuk has had over 60 yards receiving in 7 regular-season games this year, the San Francisco offense is 6-1 in those contests. Translation: when number 11 is in the game, the 49ers have success.

Another receiver having a breakout season is rookie Jauan Jennings. On more than one occasion, the seventh-round steal has proven to be clutch in key moments. Of his 27 regular season receptions, 23 of them have been for either a touchdown or a first down.

Rounding out the group are receivers Mohamed Sanu and Trent Sherfield at the fourth and fifth option. Their capable productivity makes them an easy third option on any other team in the league.
