NFL Power Rankings No. 4: Josh Allen, Bills

So much for Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen being a warm-weather signal-caller only.

And so much for that vaunted New England Patriots defense having all the answers for him.

No quarterback in the Wild Card round wholly bucked the narrative more than Allen, who was absolutely on fire against the Pats, torching head coach Bill Belichick’s defense to the tune of 308 yards and five touchdowns, completing a whopping 84 percent of his passes without an interception and avoiding any sacks.

Forget how cold it was in western New York. The Bills, with Allen fully in charge, dominated that game from the opening quarter, finally pulling off the lopsided 47-17 victory in a game where the final score actually makes the contest seem closer than it actually was.

Like Ryan Tannehill and Jimmy Garoppolo, Allen still has unfinished business in the playoffs, trying to answer what was a disappointing showing against quarterback Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game from a year ago.

Oh, what do you know? Both teams will square off against each other again in the divisional round.

That should be an epic matchup. And if Allen plays as he did against New England, there’s a real chance Kansas City finds itself eliminated earlier than it anticipated.
