49ers Dud: Tight End George Kittle

For the faithful, this one is going to sting a bit.

Tight end George Kittle is the heart and soul of this offense. In fact, prior to the rise of Deebo Samuel, he was the go-to guy.

Not in this game. To put it politely, he was a non-factor.

His stat line: One catch on three targets for 18 yards. To make matters worse, though it was for good yardage, his only catch didn’t come until the fourth quarter.

Heading into Green Bay, the 49ers offense needs Kittle to return to his regular-season form. He’s a big target combined with speed and athleticism who makes it hard for defenses to tackle him.

A big performance by Kittle will minimize pressure on the receivers and give Jimmy Garoppolo another reliable option.
