49ers put their fate in the hands of Jimmy Garoppolo

Jimmy Garoppolo, the lame-duck quarterback of the 49ers has “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” performances on a regular basis.

Going from needing to be benched, to maybe earning another year as the starter, this is Garoppolo and the Niners in a nutshell. They seem to have accepted him and all his warts, taking the good with the bad, and whatever happens, to learn to deal with the results.

Even in this game, Garoppolo threw that horrendous end-zone interception, trying to force a ball into tight end George Kittle that would have taken the lead in the fourth quarter.

Ultimately, Garoppolo bounced back, looking like a modern-day Joe Montana, leading his team down the field to tie the game with a minute left in regulation.

Jimmy G showed more of the same in overtime, too, as the Niners took the lead on the eventual game-winning field goal before cornerback Ambry Thomas iced the game with an interception.
