No. 1: 49ers are perfect in red-zone trips vs. Falcons

There are plenty of ways the 49ers expose the Falcons, who enter the game with the NFL’s 28th-ranked scoring defense.

One of the reasons Atlanta has been so bad in this area is because of its red-zone defense, which has given up touchdowns within this area 68.8 percent of the time, fifth worst in the league.

That plays right into a Niners strength. And despite all the challenges San Francisco has faced on offense this year, particularly early in the season, the one area where head coach Kyle Shanahan has been highly effective is finding pay dirt in the end zone.

The 49ers still rank No. 1 in the league in red-zone offense, scoring touchdowns here 73 percent of the time.

The formulas may vary. Perhaps it’s George Kittle having yet another dominant game, or maybe even Deebo Samuel winds up being an X-factor once more. There are always additional combinations, too.

Nevertheless, look for the Niners to have 100-percent success when they get down into Atlanta’s 20-yard line.
