4 teams 49ers want to see lose to help with playoff push

49ers want to see Seahawks miss playoffs entirely
Seahawks remaining schedule: @ Rams, vs. Bears, vs. Lions, @ Cardinals
The 49ers always beat the Rams, and the Rams always beat the Seattle Seahawks who always beat the Niners.
It’s a weird, weird NFC West cycle.
At 5-8 and in the No. 13 seed in the NFC playoff picture, the actual reality of head coach Pete Carroll’s squad not making the postseason for only the second time since 2011 is coming into its own reality. The rumored drama between Carroll and quarterback Russell Wilson, which might finally reach its boiling point this offseason, will be a center of focus, too.
But, for now, San Francisco would more than be happy to see Seattle fully and decisively out of the playoff dance for a change.
In all likelihood, though, the Seahawks are going to finish the season at least with a 2-2 record, certainly superior enough to beat the one-win Detroit Lions and presumed home favorites over the Chicago Bears in Week 16.
If the Cardinals are to win the NFC West anyway, Week 18 would just be a final stamp. Yet Week 15’s matchup versus Los Angeles would mark the lone time the 49ers would be pulling for their other NFC West rival, the Rams, to pull off a victory and ensure Seattle doesn’t stage some sort of late-season surge.
