4 bold predictions for 49ers Week 14 tilt vs. inconsistent Bengals
By Peter Panacy
No. 1: 49ers intercept Joe Burrow 2 times in Week 14
In a weird way, both Joe Burrow and San Francisco’s own quarterback, Jimmy Garoppolo, are the same way.
When either wind up tossing interceptions, the respective team loses. When either prevents these turnovers, his team wins.
49ers fans know all too well what tends to happen when Garoppolo throws an interception, and the Niners are 1-5 in games when he’s tossed a pick this season. For Burrow, it seems to be a two-interception threshold, as NBC Sports Bay Area’s Matt Maiocco pointed out:
For the Niners, it’s simple: get Burrow to toss interceptions.
This might be on account from Bosa, whose pressure might force the young quarterback into rushed decisions, increasing the interception risk. Perhaps it’s some trickery with the coverage called by defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans.
Or, just as much as anything else, it’s a little bit of luck.
Pushing for some optimism, let’s make our final bold prediction for Week 14 biased in favor of San Francisco, as the 49ers pick off Burrow at least twice on Sunday when both teams square off at 4:25 p.m. ET from Paul Brown Stadium.
