No. 4: Jimmy Garoppolo throws for 300-plus yards

If the 49ers aren’t going to be able to generate as many rush yards against the Seahawks, they’ll still need to find a way to move the ball and maintain control.

Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has played well the last four weeks, tossing seven touchdowns against just two interceptions during that span, and the Niners are 3-1 largely because of his ability to effectively manage the offense without making too many mistakes.

Over the last three games, however, Garoppolo hasn’t been tasked with doing too much through the air:

  • Week 10 vs. Los Angeles Rams: 15-of-19, 182 yards, 2 TDs, 0 INTs
  • Week 11 @ Jacksonville Jaguars: 16-of-22, 176 yards, 2 TDs, 0 INTs
  • Week 12 vs. Minnesota Vikings: 17-of-26, 230 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT

Not having Deebo Samuel makes life a bit more difficult, but the fact he’s had just one reception in each of the last two games and has made his mark felt on the ground means Garoppolo can still look for other options in the passing game.

He’ll have to.

If there’s a positive note, the Hawks have surrendered 3,015 pass yards this season, second most in the NFL entering Week 13.

Look for Jimmy G to crest over 300 yards passing this Sunday.
