No. 1: 49ers vs. Vikings is decided by a field goal

The Niners may not be as lucky as they were in Week 10 when the Rams committed so many self-inflicted wounds, and the Vikings are surely way more offensively potent than whatever the Jaguars offered a week ago.

So, even if San Francisco is able to maintain possession, run the ball like crazy and sack Kirk Cousins a lot, Week 12 could easily turn into a tight game.

Minnesota’s first two losses were decided by a field goal, one of which was in Week 1 in overtime against the Cincinnati Bengals. Same with the Vikings’ second win of the season on a last-second kick against the Detroit Lions. Another overtime loss to the Baltimore Ravens came by a field goal, and Minnesota’s most recent win over the Green Bay Packers came down to a field goal, too.

Exactly half of all the Vikings’ games this season have come down to that final kick, and so many other wins and losses have fallen on the last play of the game, too.

Why expect anything different in Week 12?

Minnesota might be able to make up for any deficit in time of possession with a quick-strike offense, and it’s easy enough to predict the game being decided by a field goal. After all, the oddsmakers over at WynnBET are already sizing this up to be a three-point spread in favor of the 49ers.

Let’s just hope that final kick goes in favor of the Niners when these two teams kick off at Levi’s Stadium on Sunday, Nov. 28 at 4:25 p.m. ET.
