No. 2: 49ers EDGE Nick Bosa

The Niners defensive line isn’t proving to be one of the team’s stoutest units in 2021, which is unfortunate considering all the investments made here over the last few seasons. Second-year defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw is out for the year with a knee injury. Offseason free-agent pickup Samson Ebukam hasn’t been a factor, and San Francisco is possibly going to be without EDGE Dee Ford for the rest of the year because of a back injury.

Luckily, the 49ers have received All-Pro play from third-year EDGE Nick Bosa.

Bosa set a career-high for himself by notching two sacks against the Jaguars, bringing his 2021 total to 10, surpassing his rookie-year number of nine, which was already impressive in itself.

And for those wondering about all those non-call holding plays, Bosa is still wreaking havoc in the pocket and forcing other quarterbacks to make plenty of mistakes this year, too.

Speaking of shouldering the load, Bosa’s 10 sacks clearly lead the defense.

No one else on the roster has more than three.
