49ers NFL Draft Target No. 3: Tariqious Tisdale, Ole Miss

Late in the draft is the perfect time to take fliers on players whose stats may not suggest elite-level talent but whose intangibles certainly make for quality developmental pieces.

This is essentially what the Niners could have with Ole Miss EDGE Tariqious Tisdale, a mammoth 6-foot-5, 295-pound defensive lineman who easily can use his strength to overpower lesser offensive linemen.

His sheer strength hasn’t necessarily generated the sack production one would expect, though, as he hasn’t recorded a quarterback takedown since registering two back in 2019 despite playing nine games since that season.

For a big player, though, Tisdale moves surprisingly well, even though his frame doesn’t allow for him to have the quick twitch and speedy jump at the snap one would ideally like for a quality pass-rusher.

That said, in terms of finding a pocket-wrecking force who could surprise in the pass-rush development with some fine-tuning, a player like Tisdale might be worth a day-three flier from San Francisco’s vantage point.
