No. 2: 49ers would hate to see Colts trade Marlon Mack to the Seahawks

Yes, the Seahawks appear again on this list, since that’s the team most 49ers fans would probably hate most to see make any improvements, albeit no disrespect to the Niners’ rivalries with both the Cardinals and Los Angeles Rams.

Again, though, Seattle has the cap space to make some moves happen, and there could easily be a need to reinforce the running back room in order to make a second-half playoff push possible despite the Hawks currently being in last place within the division.

Seattle’s No. 1 running back, Chris Carson, is on injured reserve with a neck injury. And while the Seahawks don’t think it’s too serious and anticipate his return, the timeline for it remains up in the air.

Meanwhile, Seattle has been getting by with journeyman tailback Alex Collins, a nice player who’s versatile, but not much more than that.

Indianapolis Colts running back Marlon Mack, who was such a force in 2018 and 2019, now finds himself buried on the depth chart behind runners Jonathan Taylor, whom San Francisco saw plenty of in Week 7, and Nyheim Hines. So, it’s understandable why the 25-year-old Mack would want a chance somewhere else.

As a pass-catching rushing threat, Mack could help give the Seahawks another dynamic it doesn’t quite have at great capacity with Collins and never totally exploited with Carson.

And if the Seahawks are going to make a run in the second half when Wilson returns, they’ll want it to be offensively based.
