No. 2: Cardinals have 6 pass-catchers with at least 100 receiving yards

A year ago, particularly in the Niners’ Week 1 home loss to the Cardinals, All-Pro wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins was easily the top threat to worry about, and he delivered with 14 receptions and 151 yards in that game.

But one of the things that’s made Arizona’s offense so much more prolific this season has been Murray’s ability to spread the ball around.

A lot.

Through four weeks, six Cardinals pass-catchers have registered at least 100 receiving yards on the season:

  • RB Chase Edmonds: 20 receptions, 140 yards, 0 touchdowns
  • WR DeAndre Hopkins: 17 receptions, 225 yards, 3 touchdowns
  • WR Christian Kirk: 16 receptions, 244 yards, 2 touchdowns
  • WR Rondale Moore: 16 receptions, 211 yards, 1 touchdown
  • WR A.J. Green: 15 receptions, 248 yards, 2 touchdowns
  • TE Maxx Williams: 15 receptions, 179 yards, 1 touchdown

There’s no single receiver San Francisco can look to shut down without increasing the risk of someone else assuming the load. And considering the 49ers are already dealing with shortages in the secondary because of injury, it wouldn’t be shocking at all to see at least two or three of these aforementioned Arizona weapons do damage in Week 5.

Especially considering the trouble Murray gives the Niners defense.
