No. 2: Ja’Gared Davis is a self-proclaimed “jack of all trades,” and it’s easy to see why.

The 49ers boast one of the best EDGEs in the game with Nick Bosa. Pairing him with Hamilton’s best defensive end in Ja’Gared Davis would be the worst-case scenario for opposing offenses.

As mentioned earlier, both San Francisco and Hamilton are looking to end extremely long title droughts. Davis could be the lucky charm. He’s played in four straight Grey Cups dating back to 2016. He only has one ring to resume from 2018, but it’s still an impressive feat.

What makes Davis a beast is his ability to bullrush the offensive line while using quick feet to sack the quarterback. He’s also fast for a defensive lineman in the open field and can tackle some of the best CFL running backs one-on-one.

Defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans would have a field day with Bosa and Davis on the ends. It would open up the middle of the offensive line to apply blitzes from the linebackers or even secondary.

Davis does have some NFL experience, but he was on the practice roster for most of his stints. He has a total of five official tackles with the New England Patriots.

As the CFL season draws closer to playoff time, keep your eyes on Ja’Gared Davis. He’ll step up in big games and he could be just what the Niners need.
