No. 4: 49ers Offensive Tackle Jaylon Moore

Sticking with the rookie theme here for a moment, it sure does appear San Francisco wants another one of its fifth-round first-year players, offensive tackle Jaylon Moore, on the 53-man roster this season.

After getting the start at left tackle against the Chiefs, Moore again stayed in this spot with starting left tackle Trent Williams sidelined and resting for the regular season.

While the 49ers regularly rotated their other offensive linemen throughout the game, it sure seemed as if Moore never came out. The official snap counts for each player at each position haven’t been released just yet, but it’ll be interesting to see if Moore came close to — or actually did — play each one of the Niners’ 64 offensive snaps at left tackle.

If so, that’s a good indication. A sign San Francisco is comfortable with Moore taking over as the team’s primary swing tackle to support both Williams and right tackle Mike McGlinchey this season.

Moore had some issues with speed rushers against Kansas City, but all indications are he performed well against Chargers head coach Brandon Staley’s budding defensive pass rush.

A good sign. Moore should be squarely on the roster now if he wasn’t already.
