No. 3: Trey Sermon earns the feature back role

It would be pretty insane if Trey Sermon was able to vulture the feature back job away from Raheem Mostert following his last great couple of seasons in the red and gold, but anything is possible.

It isn’t a secret that Mostert is injury-prone, so if he were to miss any extended period of time towards the beginning of the season, it would be of surprise to no one if Sermon were to come in and spearhead the Niners rushing unit.

Sermon certainly has the build (measuring at a height of 6-foot-0 and weighing in at 215 pounds)  to be able to shoulder a modern-day lead-back workload, so the only part missing would be for him to prove his talent is large enough to be the main running back on a team that is known for its dynamic rushing offense.

While this may sound like its far fetched for a rookie to be trusted with such a massive responsibility, Kyle Shanahan has been known for squeezing all the talent out of his running back groups, so that can be the case once again.
