49ers Tight Ends (4)

TE George Kittle

TE Ross Dwelley

TE Charlie Woerner

TE MyCole Pruitt

PS: None

Another position that doesn’t really allow for a lot of decisions, mostly because there really only seems to be one question: whether or not Jordan Matthews can make the switch from wide receiver to tight end successfully.

Everyone else — All-Pro George Kittle, Ross Dwelley, and third-year pro Charlie Woerner — all appear to be locked into, even if the bulk of the targets at the position will most certainly go to Kittle.

If there is a fourth tight end on the roster, the likely candidate seems to be MyCole Pruitt, who features more as a blocker, a role Kyle Shanahan loves to have on his squad.

Pruitt is currently dealing with an injury that dampens his chances. But Shanahan has often kept four tight ends on his 53-man roster before, and Pruitt offers both blocking and pass-catching prowess.

There’s also a solid chance that the Niners stop at three and add depth elsewhere, but for now, let’s assume these four make the final cuts.
