49ers roster: 4 biggest losers from first week of training camp
No. 4 49ers player: Tim Harris, Cornerback
Cornerback is one of the weakest positions, if not the weakest, in terms of depth for San Francisco. Any cornerback that impresses in camp is going to have a very good chance of making the roster.
Unfortunately for the oft-injured Tim Harris, he wasn’t able to do this. He got hurt again with a groin injury and was waived by the 49ers with an injury designation.
Harris has returned to the team after clearing waivers and is not on the injured reserve list but will miss at least three weeks and that seems an insurmountable barrier to climb up the depth chart for him.
This is where the shortened preseason comes into effect for those struggling to get game time or even make the roster. Harris looks set to miss almost the entire preseason now at the minimum, and it remains to be seen if he even makes the roster.
Unfortunately for Harris, this preseason could be his last on the roster for the team.
