Fantasy Football Breakout No. 2: Tee Higgins, Bengals

Like the Jets, the Cincinnati Bengals aren’t expected to be playoff-bound in 2021, and it’s likely Cincy’s defense winds up being a major liability over the course of the season.

This could translate into some awfully fun offensive performances to watch, though. Especially with second-year quarterback Joe Burrow coming back from a serious injury suffered last year.

Shootouts are fantasy football owners’ gold mines, provided a defense/special teams unit isn’t involved, and there are plenty of reasons to be excited about second-year wide receiver Tee Higgins, who already recorded 67 catches for 908 yards and six touchdowns his rookie season.

Yet the crucial point about why Higgins breaks out in 2021 is centered more around Burrow’s development as a franchise-type quarterback and the fact the Bengals will likely have to score a lot if they hope to keep pace both within games and the AFC North in general.

Along with fellow wideouts like Tyler Boyd and the 2021 rookie, Ja’Marr Chase, Burrow has no shortage of weapons through the air. And while it’s usually a good idea to be somewhat bearish on a player who has two WR1 or WR2 fantasy receivers surrounding him, Higgins could end up being the primary beneficiary.

At least this season until Chase fully cements himself as a star.

With Higgins’ ADP a reasonable 6.06, don’t be afraid to make him a quality WR2 add in the middle of your fantasy draft.
