Takeaway No. 4: 1994 49ers red throwbacks are back

They have been speculated for months, but San Francisco’s 1994 home-red throwbacks are back and just as nice as they were back then.

The last year the 49ers won the Super Bowl.

The unveiling featured Niners players and a 75th anniversary football. And a surprise appearance with Jerry Rice joining in on the fun.

Two years ago, San Francisco featured the white road version of its 1994 throwbacks, which have remained the team’s primary alternate uniform ever since. Now, with the red version and four home games announced as ones where the red throwbacks will be worn, it might be worth arguing the 1994 version is almost the official team uniform heading into 2021.

Almost.

Along with the reveal, the team announced that jerseys will be available on Shop49ers.com.

With fans back in the building, players and coaches ready to go, and those fresh 1994 throwbacks, the Niners look ready to roll for the 75th anniversary of the beloved franchise.
