Wide receivers on 49ers offseason roster

Last season, injuries and COVID-19 devastated the Niners’ wide receiver room, forcing more than a handful of less-known pass-catchers into roles they weren’t ideally suited for.

Hopefully, San Francisco avoids the same pitfalls again in 2021, as the name recognition for many of the team’s current wideouts isn’t exactly noteworthy.

The 49ers added only one rookie wideout during the offseason, UAB’s undrafted free agent, Austin Watkins.

While he’ll be a player to watch during training camp, there shouldn’t be any shortage of storylines surrounding this position between now and Week 1.
