No. 1: Another offensive lineman the 49ers don’t want to overlook is Peter Nicastro.

Offensive lineman Peter Nicastro wasn’t the first lineman taken off the board, but the Toronto Argonauts stole him before his hometown Calgary Stampeders could.

He went seventh overall.

The CFL on TSN panel will provide the scouting report on Nicastro here.

In an interview with Draft Diamonds Damond Talbot, Nicastro talks about what kind of football player he is and more about himself:

"When breaking down your film what will stick out? • Athleticism and aggressiveness What do your teammates say is your best quality? • Being a great teammate and work ethic If you had to compare yourself to someone in the NFL, who would that be? • David DeCastro"

Nicastro was a part of the 2019 Vanier Cup Championship with the University of Calgary.

He does state in the interview with Talbot his favorite team is the Baltimore Ravens, but 49er fans could easily forgive him if he got the chance to dominate the O-line in front of quarterback Trey Lance sometime down the road.

USport will play an abbreviated six games this year, while the CFL will kick off their 14-game season in August.

The Niners should keep their eyes on these five prospects who could easily be upgrades or at least depth reinforcements in a few years.
