49ers don’t want the Seahawks taking these players in the NFL Draft

Rashod Bateman, Wide Receiver, Minnesota

The Seahawks aren’t terrible in pretty much any position, and most of their picks would be more finding people who can rotate into the game and contribute. They do need a good third receiver, though.

Rashod Bateman was expected to have a bigger season than he did at Minnesota, but perhaps that’s understandable due to the unusual season. He has the intangibles to be a great receiver and pair with D.K. Metcalf.

Rondale Moore, Wide Receiver, Purdue

Rondale Moore is an intriguing gadget player. Whoever drafts him will have a player who can move around as a dynamic threat at receiver and also running back.

The Seahawks have their big receiver of the future (and present) with Metcalf, and Moore would provide a good complement who could give the 49ers defense fits.

Trey Smith, Guard, Tennessee

I know what people are thinking: A guard surely can’t count here as someone the Niners would hate to see Seattle take in the NFL Draft. But the truth is Trey Smith has huge talent, and the one Achilles heel for the Seahawks has always been their blocking.

Seattle traded for offensive guard Gabe Jackson, but his play has fallen off. At his best, Smith is an awesome guard with the ability to be an excellent interior blocker in the NFL. He was smart to go back to school to show teams his blood clot issues are behind him, and teams are satisfied that he’s moved beyond his health issues.
