NFL Draft Pick No. 5: Penei Sewell, Offensive Tackle, Oregon

The Cincinnati Bengals luck out here, as they need a franchise left tackle, and Penei Sewell might be the best prospect in this NFL Draft not named Trevor Lawrence.

Franchise quarterback and last year’s No. 1 pick, Joe Burrow, had a great start to his career before suffering a bad injury to end his rookie campaign that seemed destined for Offensive Rookie of the Year accolades.

Sewell is one of the best tackle prospects to come out of college in some time, as he was a dominant presence at Oregon.

Sewell ticks all the boxes for a franchise left tackle. He’s big, strong, has length, a mean streak and great footwork. He’s adept in pass-blocking and run-blocking and looks as close to a certainty as any pick in this draft.

This is a no-brainer selection.
