NFL Draft 2021: Final 32-pick Round 1 mock with trades
NFL Draft Pick No. 30: Carlos Basham, EDGE, Wake Forest
The Buffalo Bills have made leaps in the last few years to make it to the AFC Championship game, but they need more pass-rushing talent to truly compete with Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Carlos Basham might be on the bubble after having a strong Senior Bowl, where he showed he can rush from both the outside and in sub packages.
Basham followed up a strong 2019, in which he had 10 sacks, with five sacks in only six games for the Demon Deacons. He’s fine in the ground game, but his real value is as a guy who can get to the quarterback.
Basham has a strong frame (6-foot-5, 285 pounds) as well as athleticism. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him develop strongly in the NFL with a strong team.
