NFL Draft Pick No. 26: Gregory Rousseau, EDGE, Miami

Veteran EDGE Olivier Vernon suffered an Achilles tear in 2020 and has been allowed to walk to free agency, and the Browns needs someone to bookend the line opposite EDGE Myles Garrett.

Gregory Rousseau was once considered the best defensive line prospect in the draft class, but his stock has fallen quite heavily to the point it’s a fair question to ask if he’s even going to be picked in the first round at all.

Rousseau had a monster sophomore season where he had 15.5 sacks and 19.5 tackles for loss in 2019. Rousseau, however, was only a one-year wonder, and his decision to opt out of 2020 did not sit well with scouts who question his ability to be speedy enough for the next level. A poor pro day did nothing to change this perception.

Rousseau still has a good skill set and definite power in his game. The question is will it be enough for the next level?
