SF 49ers Target No. 4: Amon-Ra St. Brown, USC

One of the many wide receiver prospects who has seen his draft stock increase over the past couple of months is USC’s Amon-Ra St. Brown, who has worked his way up from being an early day-three target to someone who’ll likely wind up going no later than the third round.

St. Brown’s 4.51 40-yard time might not fit into Kyle Shanahan’s elite-level status as far as speed, but the wide receiver balled out elsewhere during his pro day.

Those efforts might have put St. Brown back on San Francisco’s radar.

Remember, Kendrick Bourne wasn’t overly fast. But like Bourne, St. Brown’s 6-foot-1 and 195-pound frame make for a good target, and his use at USC featured him primarily in the slot where he could use that physicality over the middle in contested situations.

If St. Brown winds up being available towards the end of Round 3, it would be an absolute steal from the SF 49ers’ vantage point. Even Round 2 wouldn’t be terrible.
