49ers 2021 NFL Draft big board: Best-fit prospects for all 7 rounds
49ers Round 7 prospects
Team needs
Same as usual here now: any prospects who are especially intriguing but still available would be well worth the home-run swing here no matter the position, too.
Matt Allen, Center, Michigan State
Matt Allen played very well for Michigan State, but doesn’t seem to be getting a lot of love from recruiters and might be on the bubble between being drafted and falling to the undrafted ranks.
Allen should project to be a decent backup at the very least.
Charles Williams, Running Back, UNLV
While being a bit inconsistent, Charles Williams ran well overall in 2020 and was weighed down a little by a bad UNLV team that went behind a lot and stifled his ability to have a big season.
San Francisco 49ers
He could be a good player for the 49ers’ rotational system.
Thomas Hennigan, Wide Receiver, Appalachian State
Thomas Hennigan was a solid receiver for Appalachian State throughout his tenure there, and has the ability to be a contributor at the next level.
The 49ers could use some competition for the third or even fourth receiver role, Hennigan could provide that for Jauan Jennings, potentially even beating the second-year pro out for a spot on the depth chart.
Matt Bushman, Tight End, BYU
Sometimes you just need to take a risk, and anyone who picks Matt Bushman is taking a risk.
He’s a talented receiving tight end who can be in the NFL, but he did rupture an Achilles tendon and chose to enter the draft than return.
Deonte Brown, Guard, Alabama
Alabama is always reliable when it comes to providing some talented offensive linemen, and Deonte Brown could be a nice value pick.
He needs to improve in pass protection, but he is a good run blocker.
Blaze Alldredge, Linebacker, Rice
Linebackers who know how to tackle can always find a spot as a backup, and Blaze Alldredge has been a solid player in that regard.
He would need to improve significantly to be a starter, but the Niners do need reliable backups and special teams aces.
