49ers Round 6 prospects

Team needs

Once again, it’s looking for potential depth as well as boom-or-bust prospects for the team.

Derek Kerstetter, Center/Guard, Texas

Another versatile offensive line prospect who can provide depth for San Francisco, Derek Kerstetter was solid for Texas without being spectacular.

Kerstetter probably can’t be relied upon to be a proper starter in the NFL, but he can be a plug-and-play backup who can fill the interior positions.

Asim Rose, Running Back, Kentucky

The 49ers might spend a pick to add to the running back rotation and despite the listing of Rakeem Boyd a few rounds ago, any such drafting is likely to be done in the final few rounds.

Asim Rose was a good runner for Kentucky and looks to be a good fit for a running back rotation.

Wyatt Hubert, EDGE, Kansas State

Some players do one thing very well, and Wyatt Hubert goes after the quarterback very well.

Hubert recorded 20 sacks in his three seasons, and while he has some physical limitations (he’s only 6-foot-3) he could be a third-down specialist that gets after the quarterback.

Dai’Jean Dixon, Wide Receiver, Nicholls State

A huge receiver (6-foot-4, 200 pounds) with mismatch size and a good record at Nicholls State, Dai’Jean Dixon was unfortunately unable to play football in the fall.

He looks like he could be an intriguing prospect in an offense like that of the Niners.

Buddy Johnson, Linebacker, Texas A&M

Buddy Johnson had a strong season for Texas A&M in 2020, making a lot of tackles as well as chipping in for four sacks.

He could rise up draft boards in the draft process, and is definitely a sleeper pick here.

Jaquan Brisker, Safety, Penn State

Jaquan Brisker was solid but unspectacular for Penn State in 2020, and looks set to be a late pick for the draft.

Brisker needs to show he can stick around on special teams, but he has the ability to be a backup with an eye on a starting spot down the line.
