49ers trade Jimmy Garoppolo in this 7-round mock NFL Draft

Round 5, Pick No. 155 Overall: 49ers select running back Rhamondre Stevenson, Oklahoma
On the surface, it would appear if the Niners have little need to add a running back. Despite losing veteran runners Tevin Coleman and Jerick McKinnon to NFL free agency this offseason, San Francisco still has Raheem Mostert, Jeff Wilson Jr., JaMycal Hasty and Austin Walter under contract for the upcoming year.
The problem, however, is all are signed only through 2021. And with both Mostert and Wilson suffering significant injuries last season, it would be smart for Kyle Shanahan and running backs coach Bobby Turner to use their magic to draft one of those late-round gems as a long-term replacement.
Oklahoma running back Rhamondre Stevenson has already been on Niner Noise’s radar, pointed out by our own, Jeremy Wohlfart, as a nice day-three addition:
"Stevenson would make sense because he does everything the SF 49ers want in a running back in their offense. Stevenson is a tough downhill runner who stands at 6-foot-0 and 246 pounds and can take punishment, but he is also an adept receiver out of the backfield and can block."
Indeed, Stevenson had 876 yards from scrimmage for the Sooners last season, which included 211 of the pass-catching variety.
Plus, his size could translate over into being more of the tough bruiser without sacrificing too much on the speed or elusiveness fronts.
