Trent Williams becomes highest-paid O-lineman in history
Finally, the deal 49ers fans were waiting for.
Trent Williams is no longer testing the market. Whatever he was waiting for from the Niners got done, even though teams like the Indianapolis Colts and Kansas City Chiefs made late pushes to pry Williams away.
Welp, no longer.
In the wee hours of March 17, ESPN’s Dianna Russini reported the blockbuster re-sign deal between San Francisco and Williams worth up to $138 million:

Expensive? Yes. Worth it? Yes.
With Williams, the eight-time Pro Bowler, the 49ers will get what they pay for. And even though he’s getting up there in his career, 2020 showed Williams is still playing at a high level.
High-level players won’t come cheap.
Interestingly enough, the Niners weren’t through addressing their O-line.
