SF 49ers Round 2 cornerback: Rodarius Williams, Oklahoma State

Cornerback is a tricky position to evaluate sometimes. Some players will have some very good stats to look at when all is said and done, while some will have played very well but not have the stats to back it up at first glance.

Rodarius Williams belongs to the latter category.

Williams did not produce a strong stat line in 2020, with only 18 total tackles and three pass deflections to his name and zero interceptions. What the stats didn’t show was a strong season where Williams was excellent in coverage.

Williams has a good size for a cornerback at 6-foot-2 and 195 pounds, and he has strong experience after playing four seasons at Oklahoma State.

The big issue for Williams is how teams were able to throw at him for the first three years of his college tenure, and he had only one good year of film. This might stop him being a first-round selection, but he could still serve as a strong pick on the second day of the draft.
