2021 NFL Draft: Dolphins select linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, Notre Dame

The Dolphins already added a quality offensive weapon for Tua Tagovailoa with their first pick in Round 1. And while it wouldn’t be a bad idea to double down on more pass-catchers early and often, Miami instead looks to maximize value at No. 18 overall.

Getting some offensive line help here would be wise, too, but there’s also a pretty glaring need at the second level of the defense.

Notre Dame linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah is an awfully good standout, and he plays with the same kind of instincts and football smarts indicative of the Indianapolis Colts’ star linebacker, Darius Leonard.

Owusu–Koramoah is a bit undersized at 215 pounds, yes. But with 142 combined tackles for the Fighting Irish the last two years, it’s pretty clear he likes to be around the ball, and he fits the mold for today’s hybrid coverage backers anyway.
