SF 49ers roster: Targeting one free agent for each position in 2021

SF 49ers Offensive Line: Alex Mack
Like Dee Ford, the SF 49ers are probably hoping they can get out from underneath the expensive contract for oft-injured center Weston Richburg, who missed all of 2020 with a knee injury suffered late in 2019.
Richburg’s void at center created a rotating door at his position, and the Niners struggled with interior offensive line play throughout the entire season.
In this particular case, Atlanta Falcons center Alex Mack would make a lot of sense.
True, Mack being 35 years old means he wouldn’t be a long-term option. But he’s already familiar with head coach Kyle Shanahan’s offense from their time together in Atlanta from 2015 and 2016.
On top of that, Mack has already stated he’d be interested in joining San Francisco as a free agent.
Mack, a six-time Pro Bowler, might not come cheap. But if the SF 49ers could move away from Richburg and free up money that way, going after Mack with the hope of getting him back to the Super Bowl would be an enticing move.
