SF 49ers: Picking one 2021 Senior Bowl player for position needs

SF 49ers Cornerback Need: Ifeatu Melinfonwu, Syracuse
Measuring in at 6-foot-2 and 212 pounds, the former Syracuse cornerback, Ifeatu Melinfonwu, showed out well in Mobile. The brother of Obi Melifonwu, who broke records at the 2017 NFL Combine and is actually currently on the SF 49ers roster, Ifeatu Melifonwu displayed outstanding technique in off coverage and man, showing a great sense for when to move on the ball and contact the receiver and make a play as the ball arrived.
You can check out some game-tape review of Melifonwu here.
Melifonwu could be a third cornerback to current SF 49ers corners like Jason Verrett and Emmanuel Moseley (if the pending free agents are re-signed) early on, playing in certain obvious passing downs. He could gain experience and eventually become a starter at the CB1 or CB2 spots in the future, too.
With the Niners most likely losing multiple players in their defensive secondary to free agency, Melifonwu has the size, physicality, and coverage skills to plug him into the lineup and play well sooner rather than later.
