SF 49ers Playoff Win-Loss Record: 2-1

Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is one of only four SF 49ers quarterbacks to boast a playoff record above the .500 mark.

So, why is he not ranked higher on this list.

Well, one could make the argument Garoppolo should be ranked lower. After all, he wasn’t asked to do particularly much against the Minnesota Vikings and the Green Bay Packers in the 2020 playoff push. During that two-game stretch, Garoppolo completed just 11 and six passes, respectively, for a net total of just 208 yards. It was the Niners’ run game, particularly in the NFC Championship round against Green Bay, that got Garoppolo into the Super Bowl that season.

Garoppolo effectively played the role of a game manager those first two contests, and his flameout in the fourth quarter of Super Bowl LIV against the Kansas City Chiefs laid the grounds for plenty of controversy surrounding him the year afterwards.

Whether or not Garoppolo will ever shake that narrative is yet to be determined, but at least he has himself two playoff wins on his stat sheet, which is more than the next player on this list.
