SF 49ers Top Play No. 3: How did George Kittle catch that?

The SF 49ers were playing for both pride and a chance to ensure their NFC West rivals, the Seattle Seahawks, wouldn’t secure either the No. 1 or No. 2 seed in the conference playoff picture in Week 17.

While the game was mostly a defensive masterpiece for the better part of three quarters, particularly with C.J. Beathard struggling to move the ball, one knows the Niners are merely a single play away from getting a George Kittle highlight-reel catch and run.

Well, turns out 2020 had one more of those in store for San Francisco fans everywhere:

With both teams tied at six apiece, C.J. Beathard trusted his former college teammate at Iowa to make a key play on a 1st-and-10 snap from Seattle’s 49-yard line. Beathard’s accuracy, or lack thereof, was notable on the play. But that didn’t stop the 2019 All-Pro tight end from leaping up and making one of the most insane one-handed grabs NFL fans have seen this season.

Seriously, how did Kittle catch that?

It would have been only slightly better if the momentum didn’t bring Kittle to the ground and he was able to make it into the end zone for a touchdown.

Perhaps that’s why it’s at No. 3 on this list, but it stands as a massive eye-popping play for San Francisco nonetheless.

Wow.
