SF 49ers Wide Receiver Brandon Aiyuk

At this point, it almost seems like the norm for Brandon Aiyuk to have a big game for the SF 49ers.

The former Arizona State standout has justified San Francisco trading up late in the first round to draft him last April. It was a questionable decision then when the 49ers elected to make the trade as last year’s draft was filled with wide receiver talent, it didn’t appear to make sense to trade up when the team could sit pat, draft a talented receiver, and still keep a pick.

But no one is asking any questions now.

San Francisco hasn’t had the healthiest roster this season, and the receiver room has had to bear some of the burdens. That being said, Aiyuk has been a difference-maker when on the field. In his last five games, he’s received at least seven targets and he’s made defenses pay; he is averaging 99 receiving yards (495 total) per game with three total touchdowns.

Against Dallas, he’ll be matching up against one of the worst secondaries in the league, opponents are averaging 6.9 yards per pass attempt (21st overall) against the Cowboys secondary.

Aiyuk has been showing that he can be a true WR1 for San Francisco, and Dallas could be yet another game where he hammers that narrative home.
