No. 2: It’s a trap game for the Bills

Buffalo’s lead in the AFC East is a precarious one game over the second-place Miami Dolphins, while the third-place 5-6 New England Patriots are still in the picture three games behind the Bills.

Coming off a win over the Los Angeles Chargers last week, the Bills also have to be looking at a Week 14 matchup against the still-undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers, who are coming off their own Wednesday win over the Baltimore Ravens, then play again on Monday Night Football in that day’s double-header.

Buffalo would love to close the gap between the top-seeded Chiefs and get up from the No. 4 AFC seed.

In fact, Week 14 against the Steelers, Week 16 against the Pats and Week 17 against the Dolphins are the Bills’ most important remaining games. Week 13 is important, too, but it’s certainly far less crucial to Buffalo’s playoff standing than those others.

Sounds like a trap, right?

Meanwhile, the SF 49ers are going to be far more desperate than the Bills, giving the “home” team an edge in that department.
