No. 3: SF 49ers playing a ‘home’ game in Arizona means better focus

There’s no way around it, but the SF 49ers being ousted from their home at Levi’s Stadium by Santa Clara County provides yet another obstacle Kyle Shanahan and Co. are forced to face in this trying season.

The Cardinals’ home, State Farm Stadium, has become the Niners’ home venue for at least the next two contests, perhaps longer.

And there’s two ways that could go.

Either San Francisco flounders from yet another obstacle in the wake of the move, or they treat this like a road contest with its own challenges poised to be conquered.

The latter is what Shanahan thinks will happen.

“[The] field’s fast. I’ve always liked that and it’s nice weather,” Shanahan told reporters this week. “So, I think it’s as good of a situation as we could have. I’m pumped that they made it so convenient for us. I think it’s really as good as it can get and it could be a lot worse, so I’m real excited about it.”

The temporary move should mean more focus from San Francisco, while Buffalo will still have to travel the same distance.
