No. 4: Quinton Dunbar, Seattle Seahawks

The SF 49ers prefer long, lanky cornerbacks on their boundary, and it’s a bonus if that player has some sort of experience playing in a Niners-like Cover 3 defensive scheme.

So it’s no surprise San Francisco might be intrigued by plucking away a pending free agent from one of its rivals, the Seattle Seahawks.

The Seahawks picked former Washington cornerback Quinton Dunbar via trade last offseason looking to take advantage of his 6-foot-2, 202-pound frame as part of a reworked secondary. Yet Dunbar’s efforts haven’t exactly translated over into success in Seattle this season, as its defense has surrendered a league-high 3,437 pass yards through 11 weeks.

And during that span, Pro Football Focus has given Dunbar a lowly 44.2 pass-coverage grade on the year, significantly down from the impressive 89.5 coverage mark he enjoyed with Washington back in 2019.

This will lower his asking price significantly, and the SF 49ers can bank on the 28 year old finding some sort of resurgence with a better defensive front playing ahead of him.
